Q: How old are you and what age did you start riding?

A: I am 27 and started ride at the age of 17.

Who was your biggest influence when you started on two wheels?

A: A crazy man on a KTM named Hippy. I actually met in the woods when I was learning to ride. He opened my eyes to what is actually possible to do on a bike and was basically with me every step of the way.

Q: What are some of your interests outside or riding?

A: Backcountry snowboarding, snowbiking, camping, and trail building.  Basically anything outdoors and adventurous is my jam!

Q: Current bike?

A: I currently ride a 2017 Husqvarna TX 300 and a 2018 Husqvarna FX 350.

Q: Is there anything odd about your current bike setup?

A: My current bike set up is actually fairly stock except for the suspension. I like to keep my bikes as stock as possible to make jumping from bike to bike simple and easy. Sometimes I fly places and have to borrow bikes etc. so being used to a stock ride is super handy.

Q: A rad moment from the 2017/18 season?

A: Riding with Graham Jarvis down in Texas. What an experience that was! Being able to meet and ride with one of my idols was unreal. He told me to follow him and he basically just took me bushwhacking through gnarly river beds.  I had the worst arm pump ever and could barely keep him in my sight but it was amazing non the less!

Q: Name a few of your favourite pro riders, past or present.

A: Chris Birch, Graham Jarvis, and Quinn Wentzel.

Q: What music have you been into lately?

A: Lately I've been listening to a lot of classic rock (Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd are two of my favs) as well as country music (Alan Jackson, Kenny Chesney, Garth Brooks etc.)

Q: Name a movie you could watch on repeat.

A: Hmmm, I'm not sure I could watch any movie on repeat because movies usually put me to sleep!  But if I am on my second round of watching the TV series Supernatural!

Q: What gets you stoked?

A: As soon as you get me out on new terrain on two wheels or in the snow, I'm pretty darn stoked. You can always tell because I'm either yelling or laughing the whole time. Another great way is going outside my comfort zone and trying something gnarly. There is no better feeling that trying something that scares you and succeeding – that is where we get progression!

Q: Favourite terrain to ride?

A: The gnarly stuff! I do love a good rip through the fast, flowy single track but the technical, difficult terrain is what I really enjoy the most.  I guess I just love the challenge.

Q: Tell us what your driving to your local riding spots.

A: A 2013 F150 (the 5L V8). She's a real beauty! It's a big step up from my ford ranger. I've got tons more space snow and the luxurious comforts of air conditioning, 4 wheel drive, and power locks and windows hahah. I'm loving it!

Q: Latest TV/Netflix series binge?

A: Netflix is what keeps me going sometimes when I'm stuck in camp after work. My latest TV series binge was Suits.

Q: Favourite junk food?

A: Pizza is something that doesn't agree with my stomach but I break down and eat it more often than I should!

Q: Worst Injuries?

A: Hmmm, I think I'd have to say my worst injury for pain and being off the bike would be my broken collar bone. It was a bad break and they wouldn't do surgery so I was off the bike for 13 weeks. My worst injury for long term effects would be the concussion. I've had more than a few in the past couple of years and I still struggle with the side affects to this day.

Q: Most recent injury?

A: A separated shoulder.

There is no better feeling that trying something that scares you and succeeding – that is where we get progression!
